ASUS telah memperkenalkan versi baru dari kartu ekspansi Hyper M.2 PCIe, yang dirancang untuk mendukung hingga empat drive SSD M.2. Expansion Card ini memanfaatkan sepenuhnya bandwidth slot PCIe x16.

Expansion Card ini sendiri telah menggunakan standar PCIe Gen5, jadi hanya bisa digunakan di sistem dengan motherboard yang sudah memiliki dukungan PCIe Gen5.

Dengan Expansion Card ini, ASUS mengklaim kalau pengguna bisa mendapatkan bandwidth hingga 512 Gbps (64 GB/s) jika mengunakan mode RAID0. Namun pengguna harus memakai SSD M.2 Gen 5, dengan kecepatan baca hingga 16 GB/s, yang saat ini pun belum tersedia di pasaran.

Meski demikian, Expansion Card ini mendukung berbagai form factor bentuk M.2, dengan dukungan standar Gen4 dan Gen5.

Selain itu, kartu ekpansi ini juga dilengkapi dengan sistem Q-Latch dari ASUS untuk pemasangan yang mudah, dan pergantian drive bisa dilakukan tanpa perlu sekrup.

Untuk menggunakan keempat drive SSD yang terpasang, kartu ini memerlukan koneksi daya eksternal PCIe 6-pin. Pengguna juga dapat mengoperasikan drive tersebut secara terpisah atau dalam konfigurasi RAID yang berbeda.

Kartu ini dilengkapi dengan sistem pendinginan aktif yang menutupi seluruh papan sirkuit sambil tetap menjaga desain satu slot. Pengguna dapat menonaktifkan kipas melalui tombol di braket I/O, dan ada lampu LED yang mengindikasikan status operasional masing-masing SSD.

Untuk detail kompatibilitasnya, ASUS memberikan daftar informasi motherboard tertentu dapat ditemukan di halaman produk. Sementara untuk harganya, ASUS kabarnya akan membanderol expansion card ini dengan harga USD 79 atau sekitar Rp 1,2 jutaan.

Namun perlu diingat, ini hanya harga Expansion Card-nya saja tidak termasuk dengan SSD. Dan harga tersebut juga bukan patokan resmi untuk semua pasar. Belum ada informasi apakah produk ini akan dipasarkan di Indonesia, dan berapa harga yang akan ditawarkan.
